Beddington v Weybridge

Beddington 151 All Out (44.4 0vers)
Weybridge   153 for 7 (36.4 overs)
Weybridge won by 3 wickets.

Having lost the toss Beddington were asked to bat. The opening pair of Antony Down and David White strode out to start the innings and with the score on three Down unfortunately chopped the ball onto his stumps off Turner. In came skipper Simon Lewis and looked comfortable until he found the third man fielder to depart for 4 and leave Beddington 19 for 2 in the 5th over. Kyle Moolman joined White and set about repairing the damage as they took the score to 44 when White was caught at slip by Philip Mann off Turner for 21.

He was soon followed by Tom Bevan who was caught by Jack Winslade off Vaniker without troubling the scorers. This was compounded when Moolman then ran Graham Lester out without facing a ball Leaving Beddington on 45 for 5 in the 13th over.  With Beddington struggling it was going to need a rescue act from Ryan Cummins and Kyle Moolman. The pair did this without taking too many chances and when Cummins was run out two short of a well-deserved 50 to leave Beddington on 133 for 6. In the 42nd over Mills then bowled Moolman for 45 and the next ball Arun Butler then played all round it to be bowled. With the first ball of the 44th over Chmielinski was caught at slip to give Mills his hat trick and leave Beddington on 142 for 9. The final pair of Jack Rogerson and David Lester took the score to 151 when Lester was bowled to leave Beddington with an under par score to defend.
After Tea the Weybridge opening pair of Ben Curran and Harry Crips took the attack to Beddington and put on a partnership of 34 when Cripps was trapped in front for 14. In the 12th over Curran was caught by Chmielinski off Tom Bevan for 20 to leave Weybridge on 46 for 2. Joel Pope came in to join Mills and took the score to 63 when Arun Butler bowled Pope for 11 and then in the next over David Lester bowled Mills for 7 to leave the score on 64 for 4. However, with Beddington back in the game the new batsman Jack Winslade had other ideas and went on the attack. With his partner McKinlay playing the anchor role they took the score to 128 in the 28th over when Winslade lobbed the ball to Moolman off the bowling of Rogerson to depart for 42. Michael Arnot joined McKinlay with Weybridge cruising to victory the return of Cummins and Bevan resulted in McKinlay being bowled for 17 by Bevan. Beddington managed to obtain a further bonus point when David Lester bowled Philip Mann for 3 but victory was achieved in the 37th over when Ralph day hit the winning boundary.
