The singer brought the high street to a virtual standstill when he performed a medley
of songs, including a cover of the classic White Christmas, on Saturday, November 19.
Crowds lined the high street to catch the live performance which topped off an after-noon of free family entertainment including live music, dance shows by local groups, seasonal street entertainers and a magic show.
Children had a chance to visit Santa in his grotto and new this year was The Vortex, a walk-through illusion.

Shoppers browsed the Christmas artisan market for gifts and activities also ran throughout the day at the St Nicholas Shopping Centre.
The climax of the day’s festivities, was the lights switch-on when the Mayor of Sutton, Councillor, Richard Clifton, joined Wayne Woodward, Father Christmas and DJ Mick Jones on stage to push the plunger and illuminate the town.
Successful Sutton Business Improvement District organised and staged the switch-on event.
Ross Feeney, Successful Sutton’s chief executive, said the event was the perfect start to Sutton’s Christmas celebrations.
“There was a fantastic atmosphere in the town centre with thousands enjoying an afternoon of entertainment from a host of talented acts.
“This year we have more Christmas lights than ever before in the high street, with Mulgrave Road now illuminated.
“We will be running a number of festive events in the run up to Christmas so support your town centre and visit Sutton.”
