All of our second year Art and Design Students are spending 4 weeks at a local Primary School as part of their work experience, teaching year 5 and 6 pupils different art based projects.

The UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Art and Design students are visiting Hackbridge Primary School during November and December. The students have been given a topic and then have had the responsibility of planning art based lessons on the topic. They are working with children aged between 9 to 11 years.

Elaine Dotchin, Art Coordinator at Hackbridge Primary School and Annette Vigurs, Tutor for Design, Media & Communication at Carshalton College felt  the work experience opportunity benefitted both the pupils and the students alike.

The staff from the school have given very positive feedback and the students are finding it a valuable experience and are really enjoying it.
