Five year plan launched by Wandle Valley Regional Park Trust

wandle-logoThe Wandle Valley Regional Park Trust launched its five-year strategy, called ‘Bringing the Park to Life’, at a special event at City Hall, London on Friday 18th November.
The event was hosted by London Assembly Member for Wandsworth and Merton, Leonie Cooper, and was attended by a variety of Wandle Valley organisations from the voluntary, community, public and private sectors. The strategy document will be available to download from the Wandle Valley Regional Park Trust website today and hard copies of the Executive Summary can be obtained from the Trust offices in Morden Hall Park, Merton.


The development of the Strategy document has been funded by Big Lottery funding, and will form the basis of the Trust’s action plan to secure long term core funding. Sue Morgan, the Trust CEO stated: ‘This marks a real milestone in the development of the Trust and follows 12 months of consultation with our partners, stakeholders and the wider
community. We now have the clarity of purpose and the tools for the Trust to attract the investment needed to secure the heritage of the Regional Park and the Trust’s future.’

Leonie Cooper, London Assembly Member for Wandsworth and Merton, said, ‘The Trust’s vision for the Regional Park will put this overlooked South West London jewel on the map, promoting its rich heritage, vibrant green spaces and leisure opportunities for the benefit of all.
