Go along to Thames boat project – makes river accessible to everyone

The fantastic River Thames Boat Project offers therapeutic cruises and educational activities on the River Thames for people of all ages, including those with a disability or mental health condition.

The charity was established in 1989 and we have shown that enjoying and learning about the river on board our specially adapted and wheelchair-accessible barge, Thames Venturer, is a very special experience. It brings relaxation, health and personal development benefits unique to the river setting – as shown by our many clients who rebook year after year. Our second accessible boat Thames Discoverer is due to arrive in Kingston June/July 2017.

“We currently operate from Kingston and travel from Kingston to Weybridge and Windsor or Richmond,” said a spokesperson.

“As well as our regular day and residential cruises and educational programmes, we help our clients plan bespoke cruises and activities specially suited to their group’s particular needs. We are also proud to have a carbon neutral status.”
