Carshalton College’s Information Technology Tutor Group has won the College’s Prevent Poster Competition.

Prevent is a strategy followed by all Colleges and Sixth Forms to help safeguard our students, informing students of British Values, the risk of Radicalisation and the difference between holding strong views and extremist behaviour.

It is about keeping them both safe and within the law, not about preventing students from having political and religious views and concerns but about supporting them to use those concerns or act on them in non-extremist ways.

Part of the College’s activities to talk about Prevent have included awareness raising sessions to students both face to face and running a poster competition for tutor groups to produce posters which convey all of those messages.
