Officers from Sutton North Safer Neighbourhoods Team carried out a drugs warrant on a terraced house in Oakmead Road, Croydon, on Tuesday, 15 November.
Entry to the address was forced at 09:05am.
A search of the premises was carried out assisted by a drugs dog unit.
Inside the property, officers found five suspected cannabis plants growing in the loft and a quantity of suspected herbal cannabis in the kitchen.
The suspected drugs and drugs paraphernalia were seized.
A man, aged 26, who was inside the address, was arrested for cultivation of Class B drugs. He is due to be questioned at a South London police station.
The officers were acting on information from the local community.
Safer Neighbourhoods Inspector Ian Hicks, who is responsible for the wards on the eastern side of the borough, said: “We will not tolerate drugs in Sutton. We want to empower local communities to continue to let us know if they suspect criminal activities are taking place near where they live.
“Sutton is a low crime borough and working together, we can reduce crime even further.”
