Present Laughter is SADC’s latest production

Sutton Amateur Dramatic Club has chosen to stage Present Laughter as its latest production

One of Noël Coward’s wittiest comedies, Present Laughter was first produced in 1942 and, during the dark days of the Second World War, provided some light relief with its humorous plot involving romantic entanglements and misunderstandings. Coward wrote it as a vehicle for himself. The plot is centred on Garry Essendine, a celebrated and self-obsessed actor, who is worshipped by a young actress, admired by an aspiring but rather strange young playwright, admonished by his ex-wife, and patiently organised by his secretary.

Performances are from Wednesday 21st to Saturday March 24 at 7.45pm at the Adrian Mann Theatre, NESCOT, Reigate Road, Ewell KT17 3DS
