Range of students and young people enjoy Palace football festival

Twenty two Orchard Hill students, Sutton and Croydon Mencap and other young people from the local area all joined together at the 2nd Crystal Palace Football Club football festival recently to celebrate their love of football and to take part in mini tournaments encouraging team work and inclusion of people with all abilities.

One of the lecturers said “It was truly amazing to see the support between the young people, the more confident players assisting those less able and new to the game.”

It was a great day where the participants were given the opportunity to socialise with other students from different centres and to meet new people from their local area as well as being coached by the committed and passionate coaching team from CPFC’s disability team.

A special thank you was given to the Foundation’s disability officer Michael Harrington for organising the event and to all the young people who attended to make it a great day.
