Last year, five members of the Reed Business Information Technology Team, based in Quadrant House, Sutton, shaved their heads for MacMillan Cancer Support.
They wanted this year’s event to be bigger and better and it certainly was. This time eleven members of staff ‘Braved the Shave’ at Quadrant House, watched not only by their colleagues in the Courtyard but by others via a YouTube live stream!
So far they’ve raised over £2000 and the donations are still coming in. Local hairdresser Lisa Baldrey generously volunteered her time and insisted that her tip also be added to the pot for the second year running.
Aren Keshishi, Software Engineer said: “I wanted to take part after seeing last year’s event. It’s great to be able to help such a worthwhile cause by doing something so simple but meaningful!”
Adrian Pedersen, Network Engineer, told us his reasons for taking part for the second year running: “The main reason I wanted to do it, is because I am in a position to help others who need it.
“We were successful last year, where we managed to raise just under £2k for to help those in need, by doing something as simple as shaving our hair off. This year we have raised over £2K, and we had a great time doing it!”
Adrian said they will definitely be doing this again next year: “Hopefully even more people will get involved in on the fun, which will in turn result in a greater amount raised, and that would be amazing,
“I’m thankful to all those who were involved in this event and who showed support by donating or helping us from start to finish.”
