“We are proposing to submit a revised planning application to the London Borough of Sutton for the development of a new Maggie’s Centre.
We have made changes to the application first submitted at the end of 2015. The changes address comments made by a number of local residents,” said a spokesperson.
“Although Maggie’s now has 20 Centres across the UK, there is currently only one Maggie’s Centre in London, at Charing Cross Hospital; with another due to open next year at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. Our partnership with The Royal Marsden will enable us to reach more Londoners, by offering support to the thousands of people with cancer treated by The Royal Marsden each year.
Maggie’s Centres are unique, welcoming and uplifting places, intentionally designed to be different from the clinical buildings where patients receive their treatment. We have commissioned award winning, London based, design practice AB Rogers Design, who have been tasked with continuing our tradition of architectural excellence for the benefit of anyone affected by cancer.
“As a local resident we would like to invite you to attend a drop-in session to view our proposals before the planning application for our new Maggie’s Centre at The Royal Marsden is submitted to the Council. Further details  about the drop-in session time and location can be  found overleaf.
“We hope that you are able to attend, but if this is not possible, please feel free to contact a member of the  team if you have any questions.”
