The Year 10 Stanley Park High Boys Football Team secured their first win of the season in emphatic style recently, beating Cheam High School by nine goals to one. The result was even more impressive, as the majority of the team had played the previous afternoon in a very tough Surrey Cup encounter away at Crystal Palace.
“Despite a slow start against Cheam (conceding the first goal), the boys began to find the energy and impetus required. This was the team’s best result since the beginning of Year 9 and the start of Year 10. The level of effort, enthusiasm and application must continue after the half term break, as there are further tests to come in the League and District Cup. Well done to all the boys who played,” said a spokesperson.
