Supporters of grass roots football are being urged to attend a meeting on June 21 which will discuss the future of the Roundshaw Playing Fields, Hannibal Way.

The fields are currently leased by Sutton Common Rovers and about 200 children play on the site each week during the season. There are proposals for the area to be convrted into a travellers site.

“If the council get their way we will have no home,” said a spokesperson.

“We need the support of many people as possible.”

The meeting which will deal with this item is on June 21st at 7.30pm at the Secombe Centre.
