shpChairman of SHP’s Board of Directors, Peter Walters, has announced that Steve Tucker, an experienced CEO has been appointed as the new chief executive of the organisation.
Steve has a strong track record of leading improvement in service and financial performance, with extensive strategic and general management experience, particularly in
organisations driving change in a challenging environment.
He will be replacing SHP’s Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Taylor, who will be leaving the organisation at the end of November after 10 years with the organisation.
Peter Walters, Chair of SHP Board said:
“I am delighted to have found someone of Steve’s calibre and background to lead, on an interim
basis, SHP through a period of improvement and change. As the Council’s housing management
delivery company, Steve will focus on the delivery of excellent housing services in the borough in a
way that is sustainable, despite the pressure on resources.
Andrew Taylor has provided strong leadership in his time as Chief Executive particularly
overseeing significant improvement in services and the delivery of £129m of investment and
improvement works to council homes. I’d like to thank Andrew for his hard work over the last 10
years and wish him well in the future.”
Andrew Taylor said:
“It’s been a huge privilege to have led SHP from its early days and to be part of the
transformation in both services and the condition of residents’ homes. As we celebrate our 10th
anniversary milestone this year, SHP is also starting a new chapter with exciting opportunities. It’s
therefore important for me to be able to hand over the leadership to someone who can take the
organisation forward and realise these opportunities.
