Residents registered with a Sutton GP can now access even more GP and nurse appointments at a time convenient to them, from Monday 17 July 2017.

Extra appointments are now offered at Old Court House Surgery, 6.30 – 8.00pm Monday-Friday and 8.00am – 8.00pm Saturday and Sunday.  This is in addition to the services already provided at Wrythe Green Surgery.  Providers are also looking at extending the range of nursing services available to cover smear tests, among others.

These extra appointments are provided by Sutton GP Services Limited (SGPS), a collaborative of local Sutton GPs and nurses, in conjunction with NHS Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

Since the service was established in April, uptake has been high, with 87% of appointments on offer filled, higher than the London average (70%).  Feedback from patients has been excellent, with an early user commenting, “I was pleased to be able to get an appointment quickly. I am extremely likely to recommend the service to friends and family, if they need similar care”.  The addition of a new surgery will add 1,000 more GP appointments and 890 nurse appointments.

Dr Farhan Rabbani, Medical Director from SGPS and a local GP said, “I am delighted we have opened the second site to offer even more GP and nurse appointments to the people of Sutton.  I look forward to making the service even better in the future.”

Dr Jeffrey Croucher, Chair of Sutton CCG and local GP, commented, “It’s great that Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group and Sutton GP Services are working together to further improve access to Primary Care Services in our region. I would encourage local residents to take advantage of the extra appointments and extended access to clinical services that are now available to them”

Please be aware that the extra appointments are only available at Wrythe Green Surgery, Wrythe Lane, Carshalton SM5 2RE, or Old Court House Surgery, Throwley Way, Sutton SM1 4AF.  Both sites are well served by public transport and have parking facilities either onsite or nearby.

You may not be seen by your own GP or nurse; however, the GP or nurse at your appointment will have secure access to your patient records, with your consent. Please speak to your usual GP practice about the services available, which include regular GP appointments and a range of nursing services

This service is available by appointment only.  If you wish to book an appointment, you should ring your normal GP surgery, where the receptionist will be able to book an appointment for you.
