Sutton Tennis Academy selected to be part of Davis Cup Legacy

Following on from the success of the Aegon GB Davis Cup winning team last November, Sutton Tennis Academy is pleased to have been selected to take part in The Davis Cup Legacy project; inspiring the next generation of children and their families to pick up a racket and play tennis.

The project offers 10,000 children who have not played tennis before, the chance to learn and play – for free.

The six week coaching course is full of action packed games and activities, to give the perfect introduction to tennis for kids aged 5-8, with a qualified LTA Coach. After attending four sessions kids will receive a free racket to keep and will have the opportunity to continue playing at the venue after the course. Parents have the opportunity to get involved too!

The most important part of the course is to learn tennis while having lots of fun and making new friends as well as learning and practising:-

· Throwing and catching

· How to hold a racket and control the ball

· All the different shots

· How to develop a rally, hitting a ball over a net with new friends

· Being part of a team and respecting one another

· The rules of tennis and how points are won and lost
