On Wednesday 19 July, Sutton Music Service will take over London’s iconic Royal Festival Hall for Summer Celebration – a gala concert featuring young musicians and singers from across the London Borough of Sutton, produced in partnership with Sutton Youth Music Supporters’ Association (SYMSA).

The event is billed as their  ‘Summer Celebration’ and, by taking the cue from the name, the theme for the evening will be celebration in all its forms – expect samba, gospel, fanfares and all things uplifting! The evening will feature intermediate and advanced level bands and orchestras from Sutton Music Service, as well as young rock and pop musicians from hub partners Arts One Rocks, based at Glenthorne High School. Pupils from Westbourne Primary and High View Primary that have been learning to perform bhangra and samba music as part of our popular Whole Class Ensemble Tuition initiative, will combine for a special performance led by renowned world music experts Inspire Works.

The concert will also include performances from Sutton Young Singers, Sutton Music Service’s recently formed auditioned choir for children aged 8-13. They’ll be joined on stage by a massed choir of 600 pupils and staff from All Saints Carshalton CE Primary, Barrow Hedges Primary, Brookfield Primary, Cheam Common Junior, Cheam Fields Primary, Cheam Park Farm Primary, Devonshire Primary, Dorchester Primary, St Dunstan’s CE Primary, High View Primary, St Mary’s Catholic Junior, Stanley Park Junior, Tweeddale Primary and Westbourne Primary Schools. We’re sure it’s going to be a night to remember!

Supported using public funding by the Department for Education and Arts Council England, Sutton Music Service is part of Sutton Education Services Ltd (SES), a joint venture company between the London Borough of Sutton and local schools.
