Trinity Church announces Christmas programme

Trinity Church Sutton has announced three new dates during which it invites people to join them over the Christmas period

Event title  Crib Service

Description  Our Children’s Crib Service is especially for tots and toddlers and their parents or carers, telling the Christmas story, dressing the church crib scene and singing children’s carols.

A warm and friendly way to start Christmas! All are welcome and it’s all free.

This service will last no longer than 30 minutes.

Event title  Candlelight Service

Description  Our Candlelight Service is a wonderful way to usher in Christmas Day.

Lasting about an hour, this is a service of readings and carols, including beautiful music and a short sermon. 

Note that this is not a communion service.

Prices        Free admission, retiring collection for Action for Children.  All welcome

Event title       Trinity Epiphany Lecture

Description

“The Gospel Stories of Jesus’ Birth” by the Very Revd Jeffrey John, Dean of St Albans.

The talk and discussion will address the questions: Why is it that only Matthew and Luke supply any information about Jesus’ birth, while Mark and John pass over it in silence? Why are Matthew’s and Luke’s stories so different? Where have these stories come from? How important is the virginal conception of Jesus? Are we dealing with history, myth, or something in between?

Time          7.30pm (our Oasis cafe will be selling light suppers from 6pm)
