Volunteer Centre Sutton is looking for a Befriending Coordinator

Salary: £12,577 per annum
Part time: 3 days/18 hours
Location: Sutton, London

Closing date: 19th November 2017

The post holder will be part of the Call, Catch-up, Connect programme, funded by the Big Lottery Fund.  The Centre has been established and committed for over 50 years supporting individuals and organisations to ‘Inspire community’ through volunteering.
The Call, Catch-up and Connect service’s main aim is to reach out to vulnerable older people and adults at risk who live in the London Borough of Sutton.  It will relieve their social isolation and loneliness, and increase their social contact, interaction and stimulation by providing them with a volunteer befriender.
As the Befriending Coordinator, you will have responsibility for the day to day running and support of the Befriending Service. This will include regular client contact, liaison with partners to the service and volunteer recruitment. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about our vision and who will bring skills, excellent coordination and an empathic approach in relating with vulnerable and frail elderly people. You will also be required to deliver potential training and support as required.
An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team, working with volunteers and colleagues to deliver a high-quality service which supports vulnerable people and their families within Sutton.
