Whether its your bedroom or your bathroom, your kitchen or your lounge there is a huge range of material that can be recycled and the borough are focussing on increasing the recycling habit among the residents

Sutton Council are encouraging Sutton resident to recycle more items from all over their homes this month.

Recycling in your bathroom
From your bathroom there are lots of items waiting to be recycled that can make a huge difference including:
Toothpaste boxes
Toilet roll tubes
Plastic shampoo and conditioner bottles
Shower gel containers
Liquid soap bottles
Bleach and bathroom cleaners

Recycling in your bedroom
In your bedroom you can recycle items such as:
Empty tissue boxes
Old magazines
Empty deodorant aerosols and hairspray

Recycling in your lounge
Did you know that it takes seven days for a recycled newspaper to come back as newspaper again? You can recycle all these items from your living room:
Envelopes
Newspapers and magazines
Cardboard packaging from online shopping

Recycling in your kitchen
Along with the usual drinks bottles in the kitchen, remember to check the cupboard under the sink! Items often forgotten include:
Washing up liquid bottles
Bleach and surface cleaner bottles
Washing liquid and conditioner bottles
Aerosols tins of furniture polish and air fresheners
Empty dishwasher tablet boxes and kitchen wrap boxes
Takeaway boxes and foil trays can be recycled but must be clean and without grease
