Carshalton Jazz CLub has announced its latest event to take place on Tuesday June 21st at Nightingales, Carshalton College.

CARSHALTON JAZZ CLUB has presented “The Best in Hot Jazz & Swing” non-commercially since 1991 with professional quality jazz from 7 – Piece Traditional, Swing & Mainstream outfits to 17 – piece Big Bands.

PARTICULAR HIGHLIGHTS have featured the incomparable Great British Jazz Band; Richard Pite’s multi-instrumental “100 Years of Jazz”; Rod Mason and His Hot Five from Germany; Harry Strutters’ Hot Rhythm Orchestra; Keith Nichols’ Rhythmakers; Martin Litton & His Rhythm; John Petters’ Swing Band; The Swedish Jazz Kings and Australia’s Red Hot Rhythmakers. A tribute night memorably climaxed with 24 musicians on stage.The Surrey Jazz Orchestra, Force Ten Big Band and the Bill Geldard Big Band have all blown up a storm.

MANY OTHER WELL-KNOWN BANDS AND MUSICIANS have appeared including the Alan Gresty – Brian White Ragtimers, Digby Fairweather’s Half-Dozen and Al Nicholl’s Blue Harlem. The Len Phillips’ Seven and vocal star Paul Wood presented their “Salute to Sinatra”. Top American visitors have included Warren Vache, Kenny Davern and Tim Laughlin. Legendary Australian trumpeter Bob Barnard has appeared several times, once fronting the New Delta Big Band.

YOUNG JAZZ MUSICIANS are actively encouraged, a prime example being Barry Martyn & The Young Bloods featuring five exciting young UK musicians led by the irrepressible drummer from New Orleans. We also encourage younger audiences with half price admission.
