On Saturday 11 June, two girls from Sutton High School competed at the Surrey School Athletics Championship. Dominique C (Year 9) won the inter girls 1500m to become County Champion in a close race and Georgia D (Year 10) was also impressive, picking up a bronze medal in the inter girls 80m hurdles.

As a result of her first place finish, Dominique has been selected to represent Surrey at the English School Athletics Championship in July. This is an English Schools double for Dominique as she qualified earlier in the year for the Cross Country Championships.

Dominique also won silver in the Surrey Championships on 14 May and is representing Surrey in the South East Schools Inter Counties this coming Saturday.

She has knocked 11 seconds off her PB this season.

“We wish Dominique great success with her upcoming events and look forward to hearing about them,” said a statement on the school’s website.
