dearmanCarshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake has praised local firm Dearman on their nomination for a prestigious national innovation award in Parliament later this month.

The local clean cold technology company (whose ground-breaking idea was developed at Imperial College, Tom’s old university) saw off competition from across the country to see themselves headed to Parliament as one of just five companies nominated in the “Innovation Leading to Investment” category. Dearman technology has been developed to harness liquid nitrogen and deliver clean cold and power.  At the heart of the company’s technology is a zero-emission Dearman Engine, powered by the expansion of liquid nitrogen instead of polluting diesel or other fuels.

The company also has a chance at winning the best of best “Inspirational Innovation” award. The aim of these awards is to recognise examples of innovation among projects funded by Innovate UK.
