football-7Stanley Park Year 11 football team went out of the National cup in the 3rd round, after a thrilling encounter finally decided on penalties. The game ended 2-2 after normal time, after Heathlands equalised in the dying minutes.

Stanley Park could count themselves unfortunate to not to have won the game, twice going into the lead and having several opportunities to put the game beyond the reach of their opponents. Three goals were also disallowed in the game, which added to the pain of defeat for the boys.

Extra-time passed with both sides having some half chances and Stanley Park having another goal disallowed. Both teams were exhausted when the final whistle blew, having played on the huge flood lit pitch at Bedfont Sports ground.

Reigning champions of Sutton and contenders for the Surrey cup, the team still have all to play for this season.
