Head of Sutton Music Service, Lewis Gibbs, commented “We’re absolutely delighted that the Mayor of Sutton, Councillor Richard Clifton, has asked Sutton Youth Wind Orchestra to present this year’s Mayor of Sutton’s Annual Concert alongside the Band of the Grenadier Guards. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our talented young musicians to gain valuable experience from playing alongside professional military musicians of the highest quality. It’s also a rare opportunity to see and hear the fantastic Band of the Grenadier Guards perform on our doorstep.”
Sutton Youth Wind Orchestra is just one of a range of bands and orchestra organised by Sutton Music Service, lead partner in the Sutton Music Hub. The Mayor of Sutton’s Annual Concert takes place at St Andrew’s Church, Northey Avenue, Cheam at 7.00pm on Tuesday 29 November. A collection will be held to raise funds for Sutton Youth Music Supporters’ Association and the Mayor’s charities.
