In 1862, a decade after the Crystal Palace Exhibition, a further exhibition was planned to promote arts, sciences and manufacturing. Unfortunately, the building built for the exhibition was disliked and eventually dismantled, but over the next 50 years other exhibition halls such as Alexandra Palace, Olympia and Earls Court were built. They housed a variety of exhibitions which included a Wild West Show and Tibetan musicians.

The British Empire Exhibition opened at Wembley on St George’s Day 1924. Come along and find out more about this spectacular exhibition.
