Spencer v. Beddington on Saturday 20th May 2017

Beddington 95 (38.3overs)

Spencer 96-3   (27.4 overs)

Spencer won by 7 wickets

Beddington’s batting, without three of the top five this week, was always going to be a bit fragile and so it proved. Kyle Moolman (19) was the only one to get into double figures and at 37 for 7, Beddington were in a total mess. However, a stand of 47 between Ryan Cummins (30) and Jack Rogerson (19), took them to 84 before Cummins missed a full-toss and was LBW. And that was that.

Spencer did not start too well either, losing their first two wickets for only 19 with one each going to Cummins and Hamid Gondal. Spencer moved on to 69 before Will Bevan caught a fine catch off Moolman to remove Hubbert but that was to be Beddington’s final success.

A lack of availability plus some poor commitment cost Beddington dearly today and they look forward to visiting Sutton next week with a full squad. This will be their third consecutive away game – one of the quirks of the Surrey Championship!
