Carshalton Environmental Fair is looking for volunteers.  Held annually since 1990, this year the Fair is on the Bank Holiday Monday 28th August 2017 in Carshalton Park, Ruskin Road.

The Environmental Fair is a community not-for-profit event and everybody involved in setting up and running the Fair does so voluntarily with 60 people helping out.  Could you take part?

Some volunteers do shifts on and off through the day with breaks to see the event, eat lunch etc. Others do one shift of an hour or two – it all helps!  We give a lunch voucher to anybody who does 2 or more hours to spend at the event.   Or perhaps you could help set up the Fair on the Saturday/Sunday before the event?  People to help clear up the day after as well/instead are of course very welcome!

Volunteering roles to set up on Saturday and Sunday include; white line painting teams to mark out the 170 stall pitches, loading and unloading vans of equipment, painting and putting up banners, hammering in fence posts/putting up temporary fencing, putting up marquees, plus we really need volunteers to make cups of tea and sandwiches for the helpers (just as important as the heavy work!)

On the day of the event we need; early morning stall holder marshals and parking, day time stewards on the pedestrian and vehicle gates, info desk stewards, roaming site stewards, secret shopper!, feedback stewards and help with packing up after the event in the evening.

On Tuesday after the fair we need help taking down marquees, helping put everything away/clearing up, taking down temporary fences, loading/unloading van, making cups of tea.  We really need help this day!

It’s a great team atmosphere.  To find out more have a chat with Tansy on 020 8404 1524, read more online at www.envfair.org.uk or come to ‘green drinks’ on Wednesday 2nd August at the Hope Pub Carshalton from 7.30pm onwards or email fair@ecolocal.org.uk
