College sports students volunteer with Wheelpower

Twelve Sport Students from Carshalton College spent the day volunteering with WheelPower at a day of sporting activities recently at Westcroft Leisure Centre.

WheelPower are dedicated to providing opportunities for disabled people to find a sport they enjoy. They visited Westcroft Leisure Centre to run various sporting activities for people with a range of disabilities.

The twelve students from the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Sport, Exercise & Fitness) spent the day helping visitors participate in the activities, act as team leaders and provide assistance with the events.

Emma Lau, Events Officer at WheelPower sent a complimentary message thanking the students involved following the event
“I just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you again for bringing the group of students down to the event at Westcroft Leisure Centre on Friday 18 March. All the students were both professional and proactive and they truly were a credit to the college.
Over the events we organise around London we do have many different colleges taking part in our volunteer scheme and I have to say that the group you brought down to the event stood out to me as one of the best groups we have had.”
