Great nature events planned for September by SNCV

Sutton Nature is the home of Sutton Nature Conservation Volunteers (SNCV), who are the main nature conservation organisation operating within Sutton and has been working to conserve and maintain Sutton’s many wildlife sites since 1987.

They have a regular number of events to help residents to understand the ecology of Sutton and they have announced the activities for September.

Bat Walk. Saturday 12 September, 7.45pm-9.45pm. Whitehall Museum, Cheam. Bats start to ‘swarm’ at the end of the year, which may fulfil a social function or be part of the mating process. We’ll walk and talk about bats and see if, using bat detectors, we can find any swarming bats.
Cost: £ per person. Suitable for:  Booking is essential. For all enquiries and bookings, please call Whitehall Museum on 020 86431236 or email: [email protected]

Trees Training Day. Saturday 26 September. 10am-4pm. Sutton Ecology Centre / Grove Park. Discover our native trees as we investigate their ecology and learn how to recognise their key ID characteristics.
Cost: £15. Suitable For: Adult 16+, Booking is essential.

The ‘Friends of the Ecology Centre’ also work alongside the SNCV to support the activities of the Ecology Centre and promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the Centre. If you want to find out more or how to get involved take a look at their website.
