Greenshaw Learning Trust produces strong exam results

Students and staff across the Greenshaw Learning Trust have been celebrating some very strong A Level and GCSE results.
2017 has been an unusual year with students receiving qualifications both in numbered grades, as well as the traditional letters of A* to G.

At Greenshaw High School, 32 Year 11 students achieved the top ‘9’ grade in the first year of the new examinations. If this year’s results were compared to those using previous measures, then 73% of students would have achieved 5 A*-C,including English and Maths.

At Brakenhale School, the value the school is adding to the educational outcomes of their students was demonstrated by English results being 12% higher than last year, along with some outstanding achievements across a range of subjects.

At Orchard Park High School (previously called Edenham), performance at both English and Mathematics was strong, with over 60% of students achieving grades 9-4.

Sixth form students at Trust schools have secured outstanding grades and are going on to a range of universities, colleges and apprenticeships. They will be continuing their studies on courses which include mathematics, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, architecture, medicine, film production, physiotherapy, graphic design, economics, law, psychology, forensic science and teaching.

In many subjects, value added is once again strongly positive, indicating that students make exceptional progress from GCSE to A level and Applied qualifications in the Trust’s sixth forms.

Mike Cooper, Chair of the Trust, said: “We are very proud of the efforts of all our students and staff that have secured these excellent results, and I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to all concerned. By collaborating and sharing their good practice, the schools in the Trust enable all their students to fulfil their potential.”
