Police in Sutton are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Nigel Armstrong, a 58-year-old man who was last seen by his 75-year-old mother in Sutton on Saturday, 27 August.

His family are extremely concerned after Nigel made out cheques for a total of £9,500 – accompanied with personal messages – to his three grown-up daughters who live at three separate addresses in the South of England.

He mailed the three personal messages and cheques to his mother’s address in Sutton which arrived after 27 August and were then posted on by his mother to one of his daughters.

In two messages he stated: “I don’t like this world” adding “I need to go”. In a third, he said: “I love you and please understand that now I am so very tired.”

The family is concerned for his welfare given the messages he left.

Nigel’s disappearance was reported to police on Sunday, 4 September.
