Rapid testing services run by Spectra across south and west London

Spectra CIC runs free rapid HIV testing services across west and south London for women, men who have sex with men (MSM), LGBTQ communities and people from Black or other ethnic minority backgrounds.

It’s mission remains to improve the health and well-being of diverse and often marginalised communities by empowering individuals to make positive, informed choices about their health and overall wellbeing.

“We provide supportive, knowledgeable, non-judgemental and peer-based servicesWe use a unique peer led model for HIV testing, which does not use medical staff. Please note: all testing staff have been fully trained by Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Foundation Trust,” said a spokesperson.

“No appointment is necessary. We use a simple finger prick test and your result will be given to you on the day or we use the saliva test with a result sent in 5 working days. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before the end of a session to guarantee a test. We include pre & post-test discussions and are open to all clients over the age of 16. We offer our ’24s’ free condoms and lube service for gay, bisexual and men who have sex men, who can access one of the venues we regularly visit.

“To get your free 24 condoms and a 250ml/8.45 fl.oz bottle of lubricant, please feel free to come along to any of the venues listed below or our HIV testing sites to register and pick up a bag. We are unable to send 24s bags to you in the post. Existing members can pick up a new bag at venues – you must bring along your membership card or show us your membership number.
