Police have received further reports from residents of screws being scattered along the cycle path on London Road between Wallington and Hackbridge – following similar reports in June this year.

The latest reports suggest that the screws may have been scattered deliberately to deter and disrupt cyclists.
Safer Neighbourhoods officers will be carrying out patrols in the area to check the paths are safe and will make appropriate enquiries, which will include any construction sites near the route.

Anyone found to be deliberately endangering cyclists and other road users can expect to be dealt with robustly.
