St Raphael’s Hospice – here for our community

St Raphael’s Hospice is a safe and reassuring lifeline; a service that is free of charge to all of our community.

Since 1987, St Raphael’s Hospice has offered the special skills of hospice care to those facing life-limiting illness living in the boroughs of Sutton and Merton.

The services are free of charge and the hospice staff provide high quality medical and nursing care, as well as support to family, friends and loved ones. St Raphael’s fully recognises and respects cultural, ethnic and religious differences and patients of all faiths or none are welcome at St Raphael’s.

Medical, nursing and support staff do everything possible to relieve pain and sustain quality of life in an atmosphere of peace and comfort. In each case, the care the hospice provides is tailored to the needs of each individual.

The hospice supports over 1,000 patients each year, both on site under the care of our In-Patient team or Jubilee Day Centre and out in the community through our Hospice @ Home service and community team.

Its costs over £5.6million a year to run the hospice, of which £1.2million is provided by the NHS. This means that 80% relies on charity fundraising, donations and legacies, as well as the generous support from the local community
