Survey will help to make borough better place to live

Residents have been urged to give their views on how to make Sutton a better place to live and work by reducing their impact on the environment.

Sutton Council wants residents to take part in a brief online survey to find out their views on their quality of life, health, local transport, waste and how to cut energy use.

The survey by One Planet Sutton will be used to help identify how the council can help residents save valuable resources such as energy and improve our quality of life. It is seeking to find out attitudes towards recycling, reducing food waste and even supporting local shops.

The online survey runs until 25 August 2014 and can be found at http://bit.ly/1qQ70Lq
It should take no more than about 10 minutes and all the answers will be treated in complete confidence. The results will not be shared with any other organisation.

Cllr Jill Whitehead, Chair of the Environment and Neighbourhood Committee, said:
“We want to give residents a better quality of life and boost the local economy while at the same time radically reducing the borough’s negative impact on the environment.

“These are very ambitious goals and to achieve this will mean the council making changes. The council cannot do this alone; it will take a united effort with residents and businesses. This survey will help focus the work that we do so it is vital that as many people share their views with us as possible.”
