stanley-park-logoStanley Park High is to host an exclusive screening of the Sundance nominated documentary film, “Most Likely to Succeed” on January 24th 2017, accompanied by an address from renowned Israeli educator and visionary, Yaacov Hecht.
The film – screened in association with Innovation Unit – puts forward a powerful case for the transformation of modern schooling and offers an intelligent critique of the status quo of schools in the United States, providing food for thought for those working in the UK context. It provides an insight into what can be achieved through alternative approaches, partially using a case study of High Tech High, in San Diego, California.
The key note speech by Yaacov Hecht, worldwide pioneer of democratic education and the founder of the innovative Education Cities in Israel, will tell the story of Democratic Schools and explore the future of our education system.
Stanley Park High Head Teacher David Taylor said “We are privileged to be hosting this unique event. If you have an interest in how schools might be transformed in pursuit of a better future, then you should join us. As a Building Schools of the Future ‘One School Pathfinder’, and charged with reimagining education in the 21st Century, Stanley Park High sought inspiration from overseas. Hecht’s presentation and the film will superbly highlight aspects of this inspiration, and provide a thought-provoking vision of a student-centred and collaborative approach to learning. I thoroughly recommend it to everyone interested in the future of education in the UK.”
The event is free to attend and will commence at 3.45 pm. Tickets can be booked through: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/screening-most-likely-to-succeed-tickets-30948639213
