Sutton Soup looking for new “pitchers” for next two events

Sutton Soup is a new community fundraising initiative for Sutton borough run by volunteers.  The premise is that members of the community pay to attend a Soup event where they hear pitches from four local good causes who are looking for funding.  The pitch that gets the most votes on the night takes away all the money donated on the door!  So far Sutton Soup have held two successful events in St Nicholas Church, one in April when £490 went to Sutton Night Watch and another in July when Springboard’s SMILE project took away £340.

The Soup team are currently inviting pitchers for their next two events to be held in the coming October and January.  This is open to any person or organisation with a project that benefits Sutton residents, and that’s not just the central Sutton area but the whole of the borough – pitchers from Cheam, Wallington, Carshalton and surrounds are all very welcome to apply.
