On Sun 18 Mar at 7.30pm, BBC TV’s John Inverdale will host a very special post Six Nations rugby evening at Richmond Theatre.

 In the company of home nations and Lions legends Brian Moore, Andy Nicol, Rob Henderson and Jamie Roberts, he reviews the past few weeks of bruising battles with action highlights, talking points and controversial moments, along with hilarious anecdotes from the careers of these great raconteurs. Between them, the boys have over 200 international caps for their countries as well as playing major parts in glorious Lions victories overseas. Enjoy behind-the-scenes stories as they lift the lid on the game’s great characters, action on and off the field, and partisan views on championship encounters all backed with current and archive footage on the big screen!

 This special one-night event sees the first in-house co-production for the iconic Richmond Theatre following the appointment of Brendan Riding as General Manager in December 2017, and is the first of many exciting events and co-productions he has planned for the theatre.

Brendan says, “I have known Simon for many years and it is fantastic to collaborate and create the show with him so soon after I was appointed. Richmond Theatre has had amazing success with Simon’s cricket shows and, being just a few short miles away from the Home of Rugby, I’m excited that we are able to offer a new experience for fans of the sport.”

Co-producer Simon Fielder says, “Richmond Theatre was where I made my first stage appearance when I was 5 years old with my primary school St Mary Magdalen’s, singing and playing tambourine! It is always a real thrill for me to bring shows back to my home town and I am looking forward to this event being the start of a new and successful partnership.“

Proceeds from the evening are going to Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby. From sensory rooms, specialist playgrounds and sports activity areas to respite, medical and community care, they fund around 70 projects each year that support disadvantaged and disabled children. Since their founding in 1983, they’ve distributed in excess of £24 million, helping over 1 million young people.
