Carshalton PCSO sits down as part of Stand Up for Cancer

pcso-john-kehoePCSO John Kehoe enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame when he appeared in the shop window of the Cancer Research UK shop in Carshalton High Street to help raise money for the charity.

The fund raising initiative called ‘Stand Up for Cancer’ attracted many volunteers from the local community who took turns to stand up in the shop window to promote the charity and hand out charity badges to children.

Except that PCSO John Kehoe, who is 6ft 3in tall, had to sit down to avoid hitting his head.

“I had to sit down or my head would have gone through the ceiling,” said PCSO Kehoe, of Carshalton Central Safer Neighbourhoods Team.

PCSO Kehoe had his 15 minute slot on Friday, 21 October from 12:30-12:45hrs and raised £60. Together with all the other 21, 15-minute slots on Friday, 21 October and Saturday, 22 October, the initiative raised around £1,000.
