Carshalton and Wallington Morning Townswomen’s Guild celebrates first birthday

Carshalton and Wallington Lib MP Tom Brake was on hand to wield the knife and cut the cake at the Carshalton and Wallington Morning Townswomen’s Guild celebratory meeting on the occasion of their 1st birthday last Thursday at the Scout Hall in Woodcote Road, Wallington.

Tom Brake said:
“The members of the Morning TG have made an influential impact on local residents over the last year. They are actively raising funds both in Carshalton and Wallington and in the Borough for countless important causes.
“I have been pleased both to have watched the TG flourish over the past year and to have been a part of their first big milestone, and am looking forward to many years of their influence and service to come.”
The Guild plays a pivotal role in the community, bringing together townswomen to influence local residents on important national issues and to improve the livelihoods of women, just as the overarching Townswomen’s Guilds have been doing across England since their inception in 1929.
