Carshalton garden opened as part of charity event

Tom Brake MP recently met with local resident Clare Brain who kindly opened her lovely back garden to the public for the National Garden Scheme.

Clare is a member of the Carshalton Inner Wheel and offered her back garden for visitors to savour as well as tea, cakes, and refreshments — all of which benefited a local charity which Inner Wheel members will be choosing.

Her garden is part of a garden tour charity fundraiser put on by the National Garden Scheme to raise money for a charity of the gardeners choosing.

Carshalton & Wallington MP Tom Brake said:

“The National Garden Scheme’s open garden fundraiser is a great cause that allows gardeners to share their passion with others whilst raising money for a charitable cause. A big ‘thank you’ to Clare for opening up her lovely garden to the community.”

The National Garden Scheme has close to 3,700 gardens open to the public this summer. Some charities that have benefited from the National Garden Scheme are The Queen’s Nursing Institute, Hospice UK, and MS Society.
