Citizens Advice Sutton is a local charity. It provides free, confidential, independent and impartial information and advice. Those services are provided with volunteers and paid staff. on issues such as debt, welfare benefits, housing and employment.
In 2017/18 the orgaisation
· Handled over 15,000 Initial Contacts through our telephone Contact Centre, drop in Information Centre and online.
· Achieved over £2 million in financial gains for our clients.
· Over 80 people volunteered as advisers, contact centre advisers or provided admin. support.
· Assisted well over 120 people, most of who had long term health problem or disabilities, with successful appeals for incorrectly refused welfare benefits.
· Helped more than 1000 people to resolve their debt problems.
On Monday 21st May, Citizens Advice Sutton staff and volunteers will be taking part in the London Legal Walk.
The London Legal Walk, organised by the London Legal Support Trust raises funds for the London Not for Profit advice sector, including Citizens Advice Sutton. Citizens Advice Sutton is one of a small number of Local Citizens Advice to have London Legal Support Trust Centre of Excellence status – which means that the LLS T will provide us with funding in addition to the funding that we raise directly from our own efforts.
