Detectives appeal for witnesses after collision in borough

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with doorbell or dash cam footage to come forward following a collision in Sutton in which an elderly woman sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 10:05hrs on Wednesday, 16 June to West Drive, Cheam after a Range Rover was in collision with a female pedestrian, aged in her 70s.

The collision occurred towards the eastern end of the road, near to the junction with Sandy Lane.

The woman was taken to hospital, where she remains. Her family are aware.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and want to hear from anyone who can assist the investigation.
