Greenshaw Learning Trust approached by primary school

The Governing Body of Tyndale Primary School in Yate, in South Gloucestershire, is proposing that the school should become an academy and join the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

The Governing Body, with the school leaders, has been carefully considering the school’s future, and having evaluated its options, has agreed that it believes that the best way of ensuring that Tyndale can provide the best learning environment for its children is for it to become an academy as part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Mel Loveder, Chair of Governors, said: “Being part of the Greenshaw family of schools will enable Tyndale to collaborate more closely with like-minded schools – both primary and secondary – and bring support and economies of scale that will benefit our pupils. The trust shares our values and works in the community Tyndale serves, and it understands our pupils’ strengths and needs.”

Mike Cooper, Chair of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, said: “We are delighted that Tyndale Primary School wants to join our Trust. Tyndale will benefit from close collaboration with the trust’s other schools and the support the trust can provide will help Tyndale on its journey of improvement.”

As an academy in the Greenshaw Learning Trust, Tyndale Primary School will maintain its ethos and its place at the heart of its local community, whilst benefiting from quality support services and efficiencies that will ensure the school improves and provides the best start in life to all its students. By becoming an academy, the school’s admissions arrangements won’t change and staff will transfer under TUPE with their current terms and conditions.

Subject to the necessary agreements being reached between the school, the Greenshaw Learning Trust, the Department for Education and South Gloucestershire Council, it is expected that Tyndale should join the GreenshawLearning Trust on 1 June 2019.

In the meantime, the Greenshaw Learning Trust will be working with the leadership and governing body at Tyndale and providing support to the school to ensure that it continues to move forward. For further information and to give your views on the proposal, please visit Greenshaw Learning Trust here.
