World War One photographer to be featured in Life Centre lecture

Residents interested in local history, might like to know that, as part of the “Sutton Living Memory” project, there will be an illustrated talk taking place at the Sutton Life Centre (Alcorn Close, Sutton SM3 9PX … junction of A217 and Sutton Common Road) at 7pm on Friday 29th June, about the work of the World War One war graves photographer (and former Carshalton Beeches resident) Ivan Bawtree.

The talk will be presented by Jeremy Gordon-Smith, Ivan’s grand-nephew.

In addition, there will be a short presentationon Humphrey Pearman, a WW1 airman from Carshalton who died in tragic circumstances in 1916.
